Modded Controller

Saylor spent some money on a modded controller, and has been anxiously (very!! anxiously) awaiting its arrival.  It came today, but it's just not as fast as he'd hoped it would be.  Saylor handled the disappointment well, and has decided to return it and save up for one that he really wants and that he knows to be of better quality.

He and Hayden have been spending a lot of time hanging out in the 'virtual' sense.  John woke up Sunday morning and found Saylor sound asleep with the laptop across his belly and Hayden on the screen (skyping).  They've been watching movies and South Park and Daniel Tosh together on Netflix, via Xbox live.  He watched Paranormal Activity this afternoon, and is a tad bit nervous about feeling freaky in the dark, now, or having a scary dream.  I told him he could sleep with me, if he wanted to.

Computer Time

Saylor spent most of today on the computer, watching various YouTube videos of MW2 game plays.  He's found a channel that he's particularly fond of, and the commentator also has a website.

Saylor wrote down the guys gamertag, and went upstairs to send him a game invite, but the guy respectfully asked not be sent game invites.  I can imagine if he's in the 'business', he can't go around friending everyone on Xbox live.  Darn.  Saylor understood his point, though.

One of the videos he watched led him to explore Minecraft a bit further, too.  I watched a demo with him and it looks pretty cool, indeed.

He also spent some time checking out his own YouTube channel:  checking how many views his videos have gotten, reading comments left by people and responding to those comments.  In case that link doesn't work, you can find him on youtube by looking for his username, I think?  Well, you can try, anyway!  Here it is:  ump45seb

It's so fun watching him work things out in his own way and his own time.  He's learning so much all the time, from everything he does.  And ***HE*** gets to decide what to spend his time on.  ***HE*** gets to decide what is important to him.  That's pretty big.  That's the life I want for Saylor.  For him now, as his 12 year old self, but also for the grown up self that he's becoming.
